Walking & Cycling
There are several very pleasant local walks through farmland and woodland and there is a delightful cycle route along the north shore of the Beauly Firth. Ben Wyvis (3433 ft) and Strathglass offer excellent hillwalking within easy reach.

Wildlife
In summer there is usually a colony of seals with their young on the sand flats in the Beauly Firth close to Tarradale House. Red Kites frequently fly overhead and dolphins can be seen at North Kessock and Chanonry Point, Fortrose.

Other Attractions
The Black Isle is noted for its rolling scenery, outstanding coastline and gentle climate.

Fortrose Cathedral, Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie (with superb Pictish symbol stones) and Hugh Miller’s Cottage in Cromarty are all on the Black Isle while a little further afield are superb castles, Inverewe Gardens, Loch Ness, Fort George, Ullapool and Dornoch.

Shopping and Dining

Food shopping is conveniently close at Muir of Ord and Dingwall. There are places to eat in Muir of Ord and Beauly and some excellent restaurants in Inverness.
